Rick Davis was a military child born in Germany. His family moved several times before his Dad was transferred to Sacramento, California. Rick attended schools in Sacramento and wrote the story for his book in 1976 while attending Foothill High School. He was encouraged by his English teacher to submit the story to a publisher but he chose to wait. Over the years the original story was rewritten many times. When Rick became a father he spent many hours reading and telling stories to his daughters, and with their enthusiastic support, decided to finally publish the book. Rick lives in Sacramento, California with his wife, Tara and their two daughters, Danielle and Brittney. Rick is presently editing another book, "The Adventures of Silvio the Seagull", for future publication.

Rick Campbell is a family friend that brought his unique artistic talents to this project. Rick is an accomplished sculptor and his contribution to this book is impressive. He worked very closely with the author to capture each character as first envisioned through the imagination of that high school student years ago. Watching the story evolve through his art brought a new, creative form of expression to Rick and the book became a playful, whimsical step back in time. Rick lives with his wife and their three children in Sacramento, California.
